    • To demonstrate the diversity and importance of West Bengal wetlands;
    • To show the variety of plants and animals that are dependant on the wetlands;
    • To raise awareness of how humans use West Bengal wetlands and have impacted upon them;
    • To illustrate the need to conserve wetlands
    • To generate a closer personal relationship between the visitor and the wetlands;
    • To provoke the visitor into considering how their actions impact on wetlands;
    • To provide opportunities for education and public awareness.
